SMC Advocacy Series: Advocacy for Equitable Procurement in Small and Midsized Cities | Supporting Minority Owned Small Businesses Access Local Contracts

We are thrilled to announce the inauguration of our SMC Advocacy Series. We'll be hosting roundtable discussions on specific advocacy topic areas focused on challenges small and midsize cities face.

This first roundtable aims to discuss equitable local procurement practices and ways to support minority-owned small business owners in small and midsize cities (SMCs). Anchor institutions and local governments spend a lot of money procuring goods and services every year. How can intentional procurement practices drive more equitable outcomes in SMCs? We are thankful to have Malika Godo, Deborah Diamond, and Abigail Perez to share their insights on this topic.

You’re perfect for this opportunity if:

  • You're engaged in equitable economic or community development.

  • You serve a small to midsize city with a population between 50,000 to 500,000.

  • Policy advocacy, especially around small businesses and/or minority owned businesses is a driving passion for you.

  • You're looking to drive change in your community through more equitable approaches.

Your insights and participation in this roundtable will play a crucial role in shaping the insights for advocacy briefs to advance inclusive economic development outcomes.  Recognizing the value of your time and insights, NGIN is pleased to offer a stipend for participants in this roundtable.

By invitation only. If interested in being considered, fill out the form below.
